The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
– Marcel Proust
I offer Creative Supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who are interested in working in ways which offer a new way of seeing and understanding the work we do.
As an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist, with further training in Creative Supervision from The London Centre for Psychodrama, I believe that creative and action methods and technique allow us to explore, understand and problem solve in a different way.
I have also undertaken training in Nature Based Psychotherapy and offer supervision outdoors and for those already working, or curious about working in this way.
I am an approved supervisor for the MA in Arts Psychotherapy at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education.
What is Creative Supervision?
Creative Supervision uses a variety of arts based or action methods and techniques to explore client material from a different perspective. Often just talking can limit our opportunities to really experience what we are trying to explain, and it can be a powerful way of connecting with client material, understanding the relationship dynamics at play and reinvigorating your practice.
Do I have to be an Arts Therapist?
You do not have to be creative or arts based therapist to benefit from this way of working – I love working with supervisees from different modalities and believe that these can be mutually enriching experiences.
What is Your Training and Experience?
My initial training was as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist but I have further training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy and Nature Based Therapy.
In my own client work I specialise in the treatment of Eating Disorders and Body Image Issues and have worked for many years in this field both with individuals and groups. I am the Clinical Supervisor at a London outpatient clinic and also run my own private practices in London and Cambridge. You can find out more about me here.
Before training as a therapist I worked in press and marketing for some of the UK’s leading arts organisations and continue to advise therapists on how to establish and market their private practices.
Where are you based?
Creative Supervision is available in my Central London (Oxford Circus) or Cambridge clinics, or online via Skype.
What are your fees?
I charge £70 for each session.
How do I make an appointment?
You can call me on 07939 838 988 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
